2009 Verderol Verdejo
The Verdejo we showcased last week we sold out the first day. It was very good, but this Verdejo is terrific. The 2009 has more richness and depth than previous vintages while retaining that trademark, refreshing lime/citrus aftertaste.

2009 Bodega Sur De Los Andes Torrontes
Here's another 2009 white wine standout. The grape, Torrontes, has fragrant aromas of white peach and tangerine, reminiscent of Riesling. The flavors and finish, though, are always dry. This vintage has a refreshing lemon/lime hint in the finish.

2008 Senda 66 Tempranillo
I've tasted dozens of Spanish red wine samples the past few weeks. Senda 66 was my favorite. It has a rich plum flavor, with mouth-coating tannin, a hint of mocha, with a rich yet smooth finish. A fantastic wine with grilled meats, lamb, burgers or just on its own.

2008 Lorca Monastrell
This second Spanish red bargain is made from the Monastrell or Mouvedre grape. It's a more rustic, earthy wine. This vintage was recommended by the Wine Spectator, " This round, juicy red offers fresh grape and hard candy flavors, with hints of earth and smoke."

2007 Maroon Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Maroon Vineyard
This Napa Valley Cab sells for $60 on their website. You can get it for under 1/2 that price this Friday and Saturday. It is full of ripe, rich and dark berry fruits. This wine was aged in French oak barrels, approximately 40% new, for 26 months. There are nice hints of toasted oak and vanilla on the nose as well. The wine is very full on the palate, with nice rich tones of red berry and caramel and toasty oak flavors.

2005 Spreitzer Oestricher Lenchen Bin 303 Spatlese
Last week's Donnhoff ( sold out! ) showed so well in the 2005, that we're showing another highly rated (91 IWC) Spatlese from that heralded vintage. " Golden yellow. Aromas of caramelized peach, papaya and lavender. The rich tropical fruits are more unctuously sweet than marked by mineral salts, but the finish is refined and long. Offers excellent potential ."
